The design draws inspiration from Danyang's water town culture and local lens industries. The translucent walls symbolize the spirits of the water town where past and present weave a magical spell. The planting trees and water courtyard, illuminated by the water level lights, create a serene atmosphere. The landscape design, covering a total of 4,693 square meters, offers five scenes that interact in a natural approach of artistic design, truly realizing an integrated community that conspires with light and lives.
The uniqueness of this design lies in its principle transition upgrade from functional, emotional, to spiritual dimensions. It celebrates innovative and imaginative creativity in heartwarming tales. The experience of the integration of tradition and modernity is a journey of chasing light. The water line runs through the whole site, and the mirrored water courtyard creates calm and tranquility.
The realization of this design involved the use of glass wall, imitation wood, corrugated board, and colorless glass stone. The design team and manufacturers constantly adjusted the arc of the linear glass brick for the nineteen meters long arc walls. The illuminated light strip highlighted the backfield and flow shadows, especially at night, casting shadows on the sheer face to symbolize the sleeping spirits of the water town.
The project started in February 2020 and finished in June 2020 in Danyang, Jiangsu Province in China. The design team used glass and light to interpret the industrial culture, transit water to communicate tradition and modernity. The mirrored water courtyard creates tranquility, and the leaf-shaped platform emerges as the multi-level stacking of water features a communal and playable. The gallery is extended with sample houses, converting into a community gym for diversified life needs of the customers.
Despite the challenges of integrating the water culture and ecology of the city, the design team managed to create a landmark that celebrates technological innovation and heartwarming tales. The water line shifts through the whole site plan, emphasizing the water history culture of Danyang. The mirror water courtyard provides an accessible public open space for a variety of activities, encouraging visitors to have memorable experiences through the enjoyment of the diverse community.
